Graphic Leadership: Tunnel Vision

Although there are many places where the term “tunnel vision” might be applied to leadership, in this post the application specifically addresses the driven leader who thrives on daily accomplishment after accomplishment while overlooking his/her own personal/internal growth and development.

It is not at all unusual to hear a leader say of a certain period in his/her life, “Yes . . . I accomplished a lot according to my family, friends, and co-workers, but I didn’t like who I was becoming.”

The wise leader who wishes to finish the race with a minimal collection of regrets won’t allow the applause of others to produce tunnel vision in this essential area.
