Marketing: A Meeting Promotional Schedule

Our monthly club events occur on the third Monday evening of every month.

Here is the monthly schedule to which we currently adhere in promoting/marketing that event – hoping we accommodate our members who plan ahead as well as those who are more spontaneous.

1. On or around the first day of the month, we release the poster for the event through our Facebook page and to those on our email list.

2. Wait there’s more! Between that initial release and the end of the second week of the month we attempt to have three Facebook posts explaining more about the upcoming event (i.e. raffle prizes we’ll be giving away; who our table leaders are going to be; a special feature as part of the event like a Work In Progress presentation; or a panel discussion). You get the idea. The spirit of these announcements are like the television commercials which proclaim “Wait there’s more!” following the initial pitch.

3. The Thursday before our event the hard copies of our newsletter are mailed in which are several mentions and the poster of the event (which by then is occurring on the very next Monday evening).

On the Saturday morning before our event, the digital copies are emailed with a full page dedicated to the upcoming event and a full report from the previous month’s event.

4. On the day of the event, a reminder appears on our Facebook page, and an email is sent to those on our email list.

5. As soon as the event is over (yet that evening) a post with pictures from the meeting appears on our Facebook page – reminding those who attended about the good time they had and for those who missed the event some of what they missed.

6. The poster on our club’s website homepage is also changed that night – replacing the Monday Night Magic poster with the poster for the next month’s event.

Then there’s a little quiet time until the cycle repeats itself again on the first of the next month.

We’re pleased with our monthly attendance numbers while we’ve been adhering to this marketing timeline.
