Maintaining a spirit of gratefulness can be challenging for most leaders. Yet the leader will be hard-pressed to find a more significant internal energy source for meeting the demands of his/her responsibilities.
In generating a spirit of gratefulness, there is no substitute for maintaining a global perspective in the comparison of one’s lot in life with others. Oftentimes, our comparison to others can be defined too narrowly and not give us adequate appreciation. The poster above succinctly puts it all into perspective to where the only reasonable response can be that of the first poster on this post.
If I were to die today – seeing things clearly, the only reasonable response I could have is “I’ve already eaten more than my share of pie.” Therein lies one of the keys to a leader’s indispensable spirit of gratefulness.
