- In the activity alluded to in the next post to be released this week entitled Living Statues, each person in the room is given five blank index cards and asked to write on each card (as in the case of Living Statues) one common presentational mistake magicians make – standing up when they have done that.
- As they sit down, the facilitator collects and shuffles all the cards – dealing back to each participant three cards.
- The remaining cards are then placed face up on the tables.
- Since a goal of this activity is for each person to build their best THREE card hand, they are now given a chance to stand up and roam the room – exchanging any of their three cards with any face up on a table or any card being held by another willing person.
- After a time (when a person is happy with their three card hand), s/he returns to their table, and the group attempts through consensus to build a single best three card hand.
As those best three card hands are shared with the whole group, they are collected by the facilitator – removing the duplicates before possibly having each table draw a face down card as the Living Statues activity begins.
There are so many ways to use this activity when needing to generate a list, and whenever you want to be sure that everyone (both introvert and extrovert) has an equal chance for input to be heard.
