Governance/Marketing: Your Club’s Mission Statement

Why does your club exist?

Do your members and leaders know?

Do you have it written down succinctly?

In the previous post, I addressed the importance of defining a club’s brand with adjectives that members feel when they think about your club.

Following that exercise the time arrives to answer the above three questions with a Mission Statement and Slogan.

Above is our magic club’s attempt to state our purpose for existence in an attempt to keep our programming focused and maximize productivity.

However, as good as the exercise of building that statement has been, we also wanted a more succinct version of the mission statement for the masthead of our newsletter, our website, our Facebook page, our emails and more importantly in the minds of our members – maintaining focus of purpose as we continue to evolve and grow as an organization.

Here’s where we are so far on the creation of our Mission Slogan:

“Enjoying magic … with others …

for others.”
