Truly great leaders understand that their intelligence can oftentimes be more effectively and wisely demonstrated by the questions that they ask as opposed to statements they might make.
Intelligent questions draw others into the discussion – spreading ownership of the decisions that might be made – expediting the implementation of those decisions.
“I believe we should do this” as opposed to “What do you think the pitfalls might be if we did this?” can make all the difference in the world as to the receptivity of the leader’s audience.
After all … can’t you tell how intelligent someone might be on any given topic by the level of questions they ask?
