The truly great hockey player, Wayne Gretzky, said it well when he said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

To the leader it means a sure way to fail is to not try.  Consequently, the strong leader is encouraging his/her followers to attempt a variety of goals to add to their own self knowledge while increasing their chances of success at any of the goals.  No human being hits 10 out of 10.
