Graphic Leadership: Depression

In the art and science of building a team, a leader understands that depression is catching.

When one team member is depressed (particularly when it’s chronic), that member takes energy disproportionately from the members of the group, and soon others begin to experience depression (i.e. emotional fatigue).

Consequently, a leader knows that when a follower is depressed or even merely in an emotional funk, it is the responsibility of the leader to address the situation before the entire team has been negatively affected.
