Graphic Leadership: Curiosity

poster-curiosity

No one would deny that a leader needs to be a constant learner.  Nor that innate curiosity is a powerful force in maintaining constant learning.  However, this poster speaks to the darker side of curiosity.  This poster speaks to the phrase common in the United States that “curiosity killed the cat.”A mature leader knows how to channel his/her curiosity so that s/he remains curious only in those areas that will strengthen their leadership no matter how tempting it might be to voyeuristically pursue an area merely to satisfy his/her curiosity about a matter or a person.  The mature leader has learned that as another poster says It’s Not All About You and consequently chooses to not expended the limited energy s/he has concerning himself/herself with items about which s/he is only curious but have no real need to know. The posters What Do You Control and Limited speak to the management of this finite bit of energy allotted to us all.
