When a leader begins to adopt the belief that a given crisis is a permanent situation that is never going to resolve itself, the leader is at a disadvantage in mustering the mental, spiritual and emotional strength needed to manage the crisis.
Accepting the false belief of permanency will put the leader into a pessimistic downturn devoid of hope. Chemicals will be released into the leader’s brain as anxiety takes over.
Strong leaders understand in the words of a phrase that has proven its wisdom over the generations “this too shall pass.”
As in the poster, when you’re in the middle of the rain, it’s difficult to see the break in the clouds off in the distance. A leader keeps that in mind no matter how dark the storm of the moment might be.
