Graphic Leadership: A Lot To Get Past

poster-alottogetpast

“S/he’s a lot to get past” is often a comment made about someone. Usually that means that they aren’t easy to get to know. Sometimes it’s the fact that they’re too quiet and it’s like “pulling teeth” to get any information out of them. Sometimes it’s the opposite. They’re overbearing and talk too much.

Experience has shown that seldom will the person himself/herself be able to accurately judge whether or not they are a lot to get past.

Every leader needs to have around him/her a trusted Board of Advisors who will speak truth into their life – telling them honestly when they’re being too much. After all, when a person is a lot to get past, most people just plain won’t take the time. A potentially beneficial relationship will be lost.

Who are your trusted Board of Advisors? Don’t count on your followers to tell you the truth. They oftentimes feel like they have too much to lose if they make you unhappy.
