Graphic Leadership: Not What It Would Be

poster-gauge

As a leader matures, s/he begins to recognize that in so many situations, those situations are never fixed. They are only managed. Many times the leader is called upon to salvage all the good s/he can from a less than ideal situation.

Discouragement can set in if the leader fails to celebrate the contribution they have made to what would have been if they hadn’t been involved. Too many leaders only focus on what could have been that was never fully achieved. This contributes to their discouragement, loss of energy and passion.

This poster take us back in some aspects to the Pareto poster where we explored what has commonly been referred to as the 80/20 Rule. If a leader is prone to Perfectionism (see the poster by the same name if you wish to think about this topic further), applying the principle of cultivating Gratitude (another poster worth viewing again) is more challenging.

However, in this less than perfect world, this is where the leader must draw much of his satisfaction (see the Gratitude poster) if s/he is going to find the energy and stamina to continue moving forward with the passion being sought by his/her followers.
