When true leaders find themselves in pain, they don’t look around like a victim (see The Drama Triangle poster) to see who they might blame for the plight in which they find himself/herself. Instead a leader seeks to determine what s/he might be contributing to the situation, and takes the steps s/he can to remedy the situation and lessen the pain.
Consequently, the leader is constantly learning and making progress in managing those aspects of his/her life over which s/he has control. See the poster What Do I Control? for more on this theme.
