Leaders don’t wait until they have a bird before they build a birdcage.They know that in contrast to that, the role of a leader is to find the courage, confidence, and conviction to build a birdcage before they know when, if, or how there’s going to be a bird. The leader knows that as s/he demonstrates their vision in such a tangible fashion others begin to catch the vision – getting on board until one or more of them locate a bird for the cage.Many of these leadership posters were created long before I had any idea what the market for them might be. Nevertheless, I had vision that a market would appear from somewhere once the posters were tangible enough for people to grasp the concept. Whereas a follower would have waited for someone to request a set of Leadership posters. Therein lies the difference. What as a leader should you be building now?
