Graphic Leadership: Boundary Protection

poster-boundary

There are people who seem to have no understanding of personal boundaries and respecting the boundaries of others whether those boundaries be physical, emotional, or verbal.  They’ll stand in your space, they’ll ask questions about your personal life, and they’ll use inappropriate language or jokes in your presence.

This poster gives a simple technique for subtly shutting down someone who has stepped over the line.  A leader wants several of these in their arsenal.

“Fine. Thank you for asking.” is a response that would let anyone know that the discussion was over.  Whether they had just asked about your on-going divorce or whether or not you were happy with your new raise; the answer would fit without you having to be rude or abrupt.

Carry this word track with you so that you protect your boundaries as opposed to the boundaries pictured in the poster Dysfunctional Boundaries.
