A benefit of my owning a Sandler Sales Training franchise for the past ten years has been the processes that have been tested, proven, and documented by the franchisor for replication throughout the franchise network.
As a leader matures s/he increasingly begins to think like a franchisor – seeking to create systems and processes and then documenting those processes so that they can be replicated by others.
A leader who is not thinking like a franchisor and reproducing himself/herself in other people is hardly using an efficient way to accomplish a task.
What do you do over and over again that you could commit to a system (set of sequential steps) so others could begin sharing the load?
As the leader grows his/her organization, s/he commits more and more to systems and processes which s/he can then begin to monitor for compliance.
See the posters Effective Delegation, Corporate Growth Stages, and Time Management for more on the application of this principle.
