Here’s a poster that’s a good reminder. “Life’s too short to hang around with people who merely tolerate you.”
It’s one thing for me to be around people who don’t like me. I can deal with that. We’ve already talked about, “I’m not everybody’s cup of tea.” It’s quite another thing to hang around with people who are apathetic towards you or merely tolerate your presence. That attitude of others towards you will eat at your soul. It will erode your self-esteem. It will cost your confidence level to drop.
Life’s too short. You can’t afford to hang around with people that don’t value what you have and what you contribute to their lives.
Some leaders don’t have success because of the people they choose to hang with. The ancient scripture text says it this way, “Do not be deceived. Bad company corrupts good morals.” It’s not the other way around.
