Graphic Leadership: The Healthy Organization

Patrick Lencioni, in his book The Advantage, presents a powerful thesis as exhibited in this poster. He says, “98% of corporate energy is expended on the smart side of the corporate business.”

The smart side consists of questions like “Do we have good strategies?”  “Do we have good marketing?” “Is our finance in order?” “How about leveraging the technology?”

Working on the healthy side of an organization ensures maximum leverage of the smart side of the business.

My encouragement to you is to read the book The Advantage by Patrick Lencioni if pursuing this line of argument this intrigues you at all.

A healthy organization is one that has minimal politics, minimal confusion, high morale, high productivity and low turnover.

An organization can be extremely smart, but still can’t get the advantage unless it is also equally healthy. Giving a greater expenditure of energy and expenses to the healthy side of the organization will maintain the company’s health which is a profound advantage when going to market.
