As you work your way through the posters on this blog, you’ll find yourself applying it to at least four dimensions of leadership.
First will be how you lead yourself? How do these techniques apply to leading yourself? I believe no one can lead others better than they lead themselves. Some people use better techniques and consequently get better results from leading themselves.
Then you might go to your direct reports. How do these techniques apply in leading your direct reports? You’ll find that how you lead your direct reports is different than how you’ll end up leading your peers or how you’ll end up leading your superiors. The content won’t be different, it will just be different in the way you apply it and how you approach the use of the content.
Next you’ll look at how do you lead your peers? The goal is to remain a leader among your peers.
Finally, how do you lead your superiors? Sometimes we refer to this as upward management. How will you manage upward using the techniques you are about to learn in this book?
As you make these four applications to each piece of content, you’ll find yourself mining out of this book it’s richest treasures.
